‘Playing him would be ill advised’ – Super Fans predict Leeds starting XI v Middlesbrough
This is part of a regular series from our panel of Leeds United Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Elland Road and Thorp Arch.
–––––––––––––––––
Leeds are back on track after a horrible slump in form.
Two wins – albeit only 1-0s – have rebuilt a decent buffer back to third (although Forest won last night) and given Leeds a real chance to kick on against struggling Middlesbrough tonight.
Middlesbrough haven’t won in eight league games – 10 in all competitions – and haven’t scored in their last two.
However, Leeds could have a couple of problems.
Kiko Casilla picked up a finger injury on Saturday and is still waiting for the outcome of his FA hearing into alleged racist abuse.
Kalvin Phillips hobbled off against Reading but confirmed after the game that he was just suffering with a dead calf.
Given these issues, Marcelo Bielsa might not be able to put out an unchanged line-up – something he would surely do if he could.
So what’s the starting XI going to be against Middlesbrough?
That’s the question we asked our panel of Super Fans – this is what they had to say.

Some Super Fans think that Illan Meslier will come in with the FA hearing hanging over him.
However, there’s still been no word from the FA and we think they’re unlikely to deliver their verdict on a matchday.
That should mean Casilla playing and the hope is that Phillips will be fit too.
That points to an unchanged lineup with Gjanni Alioski and Meslier having to make do with the bench.
