Phil Hay shares early Leeds United team news v Wolves
Phil Hay claims that Leeds United will be making plenty of changes from their game against Bournemouth in the Wolves clash on Wednesday night.
The Whites registered a 4-3 win against the Cherries and will now be looking to continue their run of two wins when they visit Wolves.
Teams tend to rotate in cup games and it is understood that Jesse Marsch will also look to give some of his fringe players an opportunity to impress, with attacker Rodrigo also not likely to feature.
Hay wrote in his Athletic Q&A, “It’s a toss up really – whether to keep fresh legs for the weekend or to go all out anyway. From what we’re hearing, there’ll be plenty of changes this evening.
“I don’t see him starting Rodrigo but maybe a couple of other first teamers to help a younger side around them.”
Plenty of debuts?
One player we’re excited to see is Darko Gyabi.
Since his move from Manchester City, the 18-year-old has not played a single minute of first-team football but that could change on Wednesday night.
It’ll be interesting to see if Marsch is willing to take the punt on Sonny Perkins as if someone deserves to get their senior debut, it’s the former West Ham man.
He’s worked tirelessly since the start of the season and has scored goals for fun for club and country at different youth levels.
The time may have arrived for him to get his first taste of senior football at Leeds as he’s already been handed his first-team debut by David Moyes at West Ham.
Most Whites fans will be watching this game mainly to see players from the next generation and while they would want a victory, the performance will undoubtedly matter more.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites could now be looking to sign an award-winning Ligue 1 ace and bring him to Elland Road in January.
