Phil Hay delivers major fitness boost ahead of Leeds clash v Luton
Leeds United moved to the top of the Championship on Saturday when they crushed Fulham 3-0 at Elland Road.
There were injury concerns over two key players, though, with striker Patrick Bamford taken off at half-time and spotted with an ice pack on his leg.
Pablo Hernandez came on at half-time and changed the game but he was subbed off late on, raising concerns about his fitness. Saturday was his first appearance since the season resumed.
The good news is that both players will be fit for Tuesday’s game against Luton.
Phil Hay delivered the update on The Athletic, saying, “Bielsa said they were all fit. Tactical changes (or protecting Hernandez in his case).”
After the disappointment of the game against Cardiff, Saturday saw Leeds back to their absolute best.

They hit their stride in the second half and absolutely blew Fulham away, shattering their top-two hopes in the process.
Luton moved off the bottom of the league over the weekend but Tuesday’s opponents will be very worried heading to Elland Road.
Another win and a clean sheet could see the gap back to third increased again, with Brentford travelling to Reading.
Having Hernandez and Bamford available is a massive boost. Leeds might have looked better when Bamford went off on Saturday, but we’re convinced that the striker will start again for Bielsa on Tuesday.
In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised to see an unchanged line-up. The only possible switch would be for Hernandez to come straight back in. However, with Leeds playing twice a week between now and the end of the season, he’s a player who will need to be carefully managed.
