We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United
Paul Robinson has named his strongest Leeds XI to play Sheffield United on Saturday.
He would drop Gjanni Alioski and put Stuart Dallas in at left-back. 21-year-old sensation Jamie Shackleton would come in to take his spot in midfield.
Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News Robinson also predicted an easy 4-0 win for Leeds.
“Struijk and Llorente have done exceptionally well in the past few games but for me, if Liam Cooper’s fit he comes straight back in,” Robinson said.
“Cooper is a leader. Yes, we have conceded a lot of goals and we’ve shored things up under Llorente and Struijk, but it’s not a partnership that Bielsa will want long term.
“I think Cooper will come straight back in.
“Robin Koch is back as well so for the first time this season he’s going to have four centre-backs to choose from.
“Obviously Meslier plays, then Ayling, Llorente, Cooper… For me, Alioski doesn’t play.
“If that’s the case Dallas plays left-back. Phillips, Harrison and Raphinha on the wings, Tyler Roberts and Patrick Bamford and then I’d play Jamie Shackleton.
“I’d leave Alioski out. He hasn’t been good enough and they say he’s going to Galatasaray. His head might be in the wrong place.
“I think Leeds will win comfortably. Sheffield United are in turmoil. I saw the owner come on Sky Sports this week and give Chris Wilder a shoeing.
“They’re there for the taking. I think it’s easy pickings for Leeds, I’m going to go 4-0.”
This is the side that Robinson thinks Bielsa should put out against Sheffield United in the 3pm kick-off on Saturday.
