Patrick Bamford spotted ahead of Leeds United vs QPR amid ‘major’ doubt for Daniel Farke

Patrick Bamford is with the Leeds United squad at Loftus Road ahead of kick off against QPR after being named as a “major” injury doubt by Daniel Farke.

The Athletic’s Phil Hay reported from West London that the English striker is present with the Whites squad via Twitter on 26 April ahead of the crucial Championship fixture.

Leeds Lives’ Beren Cross also shared footage of the players getting off the bus, with youngster Charlie Crew also with the squad.

The manager had revealed in his prematch press conference that Bamford’s bruised knee might keep him out of the line up.

Leeds United striker to feature at Loftus Road?

The limp with which Bamford got off the team bus didn’t suggest he is in line to play a major role in this one, so it is perhaps a surprise he is there at all.

His goal against Middlesbrough in the chaotic 4-3 win on Monday proved crucial but it is surely likely that Joel Piroe or Mateo Joseph will fulfil his role in the capital.

Farke can’t afford any slip ups with Leicester City now four points clear after thrashing Southampton 5-0, and Ipswich still holding a game in hand ahead of this one, and just a point behind.

There were defensive issues at the Riverside Stadium which will have to be ironed out here, although encouraging signs offensively suggested the team were finding some rhythm again.

The hope will have to be that a Bamford absence doesn’t derail the momentum the forwards had built up and the likes of Crysenscio Summerville and Willy Gnonto can build on the winning performance.
