Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt have not arrived with the Leeds United squad ahead of the clash against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, according to Graham Smyth.

The journalist reported via his personal X account that, while Dan James and Max Wober both arrived for the Championship tie on Saturday 2 November, the striking duo are absent.

Daniel Farke is already without Ethan Ampadu, Ilia Gruev and Largie Ramazani due to their respective injuries, though Leeds will still be expected to claim all three points at Elland Road.

Patrick Bamford missing ahead of Leeds United v Plymouth Argyle

Despite the Whites' strong start to the campaign, currently sitting fourth in the Championship after 12 matches, Farke has been dealt a rubbish hand when it comes to injuries.

Losing both of his key midfielders, Josuha Guilavogui has been brought in on a free transfer to help reinforce the midfield duo of Joe Rothwell and Ao Tanaka.

Leeds seem to be dealing fine with their attacking lineup, though a missing Ramazani is already bad enough before adding Bamford to the mix.

The 31-year-old has been a regular absentee so far this season, with zero league starts to his name, but Mateo Joseph has been relishing the chance in the starting XI.

While he only has two goals to his name, Joel Piroe has also been finding the back of the net on a regular occasion, helping Leeds to climb the table closer to Sunderland and Sheffield United.

Of course, Farke would ideally like to have a full-strength squad to face Wayne Rooney's Plymouth, but with multiple players unavailable, he has no other choice but to make do with what he has.

Despite this, Leeds will still be expected to win all three points at home to a team in the relegation zone, but the Championship is not always that simple.
