Pascal Struijk blasted for what he did in Leeds United loss v Middlesbrough
Andy Hinchcliffe slammed Pascal Struijk for his defensive performance for Leeds United in the 3-0 defeat v Middlesbrough.
The Whites were dumped out of the Carabao Cup in disappointing circumstances against Michael Carrick’s side at Elland Road.
The defensive showing, especially in the second half, was very poor which saw Hinchcliffe pick out Struijk on Sky Sports Main Event (14 August, 09:27pm).
He said: “All over the place defensively, Isiah Jones catches out Struijk who’s caught ball watching and the ball falls kindly for Coburn.
“Ampadu is caught on his heels, Leeds have been defensively quite awful.”
Pascal Struijk slammed for Leeds United showing v Middlesbrough
Daniel Farke’s side are already out of the League Cup after a hugely disappointing night which saw Boro score three in quick succession.
The first half was more positive with both sides looking to suss each other out with neither being successful in the opening 45.
As Leeds looked for the opener, they left themselves open at the back which allowed Carrick’s men to exploit the defence and took their chances.
Struijk was poor for the goals but it has to be said that he wasn’t helped by those ahead of him with the midfield being overrun at times.
The Dutchman has featured in the opening two games at Elland Road where he’s witnessed six goals go in against him.

Farke has to change something because Leeds can not concede that many goals on a regular basis if they want to be successful.
Being out of the Carabao Cup may prove to be a blessing but the performance was a cause for concern.
In other Leeds United move, Georginio Rutter involved in a transfer twist as Brighton make their move.
