‘Incredible’, ‘OMG’ – These Leeds fans blown away by one player in first-half v Sheff Utd

Leeds United travelled to Bramall Lane today in search of consecutive wins in the Premier League.

And, if they come away with the three points, they’ll have young goalkeeper Illan Meslier to thank.

He made an absolute wonder save in the 29th minute after Luke Ayling had lost the ball in a run forward.

The ball was taken down the left by Ben Osborn, who put in a low cross that was flicked on by David McGoldrick.

John Lundstram was coming in and looked like he had to score but Meslier pulled off a save that drew huge praise from Steve McMannamon on the BT Sport commentary.

The Leeds fans were blown away too, with one saying, “What a save, OMG” and another dubbing the save “outstanding”.

You can see the save in the video in the tweet below.

It was a fairly evenly contested first half, with the majority of the chances dropping to Leeds.

Patrick Bamford had the best of the chances for Leeds but couldn’t convert.

Keeping a clean sheet in the first half is a big step forwards for Leeds after conceding seven goals in their first two games.

And Meslier made another brilliant save late on from George Baldock.

Sheffield United fans will rightly be thinking that their side should be ahead.

These Leeds fans know who they need to thank…
