'Our best striker' - Many Aberdeen fans react to debut of Ryan Edmondson v Rangers

Leeds United youngster Ryan Edmondson finally made a loan switch on Friday, moving to Aberdeen on loan.

The 19-year-old is clearly not favoured by Marcelo Bielsa, although he is expected to sign a new deal at Elland Road after sealing the temporary exit.

Derek McInnes is going through somewhat of an attacking injury crisis at the beginning of the season, with Sam Cosgrove and Curtis Main remaining sidelined.

Looking on at proceedings at Pittodrie, Rangers won a dire game 1-0 thanks to Ryan Kent, with the signs only positive for Edmondson.

The young forward would have been watching on thinking that he has a great opportunity to cement a spot after Bruce Anderson failed to make any impact.

Edmondson actually came on to the pitch with half-an-hour to go, impressing despite not having trained with the squad much up in Scotland.

In the 25 minutes he featured, Edmondson was fouled once and also managed a defensive clearance according to WhoScored – staying strong against Conor Goldson.

With Anderson failing to impress in the final third, the Leeds youngster certainly has a great chance of starting his first senior game in almost three years.

This experience will be vital for Edmondson, and Leeds fans were delighted that Bielsa decided to let the forward take the plunge.

But, what did the Aberdeen fans make of his debut? It appeared as if they were happy with the striker, the majority even claimed that he was one of the only shining lights.
