Neil Redfearn was very impressed by Leeds United and Joel Piroe in the 3-0 win against Coventry City on Saturday 28 September.

The Whites secured three points against Mark Robins' side at Elland Road thanks to goals from Wilfried Gnonto, Jayden Bogle and Joel Piroe.

Leeds jumped to fifth in the Championship after the win with West Brom, Sheffield United and Burnley all dropping points on a productive day.

Speaking on BBC Radio Leeds (28 September), shared by BBC Sport, former Leeds manager Redfearn shared a glowing review of the win against the Sky Blues.

He said: "I think all three goals have been exceptional. How they've created them, how they've kept their composure. Brilliant.

"Daniel Farke can say Joel Piroe is still scoring goals and he's coming from the bench. As soon as the game opens up he can find space."

Joel Piroe shines for Leeds United v Coventry City

The Dutchman is becoming a super sub at Elland Road and thrives when the opposition is beginning to tire and lose focus.

Against Cardiff City, the 25-year-old was able to get on the scoresheet despite featuring in just six minutes at the end of the game.

This was no different against Coventry as he came on with 20 minutes to go and grabbed the goal to put the game out of Coventry's reach.

It has to be said that this was no more than Daniel Farke's side deserved as they created more chances throughout the game compared to their opposition.

The German needed this result after a frustrating time last time out at Elland Road against Burnley where his side just didn't take their chances.

His task has certainly been made easier by having Piroe as an in-form option to bring off the bench and be likely to have a positive impact.
