'Needs to leave', 'Not fighting' - Many Leeds fans slam player after U21s defeat v Blackpool

Leeds United under-21s were once again easily swept aside in the Papa John’s Trophy against Blackpool on Wednesday evening.

Mark Jackson named a strong side, with Kiko Casilla and Ian Poveda joining a number of the under-23s squad at Bloomfield Road.

That didn’t affect the scoreline though, with the Whites losing 3-0 against the established League One side.

Once again, Casilla has been named in a side with the youngsters.

The Spaniard conceding three goals does add to the goalkeeping and defensive woes that the senior Leeds side are facing in the Premier League.

In the last two games, the senior side and under-23s side have conceded 15 goals between them, and that is nowhere near good enough and not what we have come to expect.

Casilla doesn’t appear to have any chance of featuring for the first-team ahead of Illan Meslier after his racism charge, and that is the right decision.

It would be no surprise to see him leave in January, but Marcelo Bielsa and Victor Orta wouldn’t sanction that without a replacement being lined up.

Many Leeds fans have slammed Casilla for his performance, as he conceded three goals and failed to look interested in their eyes.

The majority did claim that the Spaniard shouldn’t be with the youngsters on his wages, and shouldn’t even be at the club – something that continues to pop up.
