MOT View: Bielsa to make big changes after more injury problems – Predicted Leeds XI v Derby

Leeds United are there. Back in the Premier League finally and with two games to spare.

It means the game against Derby can be played without any nerves and we expect Leeds to put on a show.

However, we’re not expecting the early promotion to radically alter Marcelo Bielsa’s thinking. He’s a man of integrity around football and he knows other teams are still playing for a lot.

And Leeds can now focus on winning the Championship.

Saying that, Bielsa will likely be forced into big changes for the game on Sunday. Helder Costa went off with a really painful-looking rib injury in the win against Barnsley.

He’s still being assessed but we don’t think he’ll make it.

That means Gjanni Alioski should come in for Costa. In turn, that will mean Jack Harrison switching flanks and playing on the right.

Alisoki will play on the left. Alioski looked really bright on Thursday night and set-up Patrick Bamford for a huge chance the Leeds striker missed.

Gaetano Berardi will retain his place after coming in for Kalvin Phillips. Phillips is out for the season after also picking up an injury.

And that means two players playing out of position with Ben White continuing in the defensive midfield position.

Pablo Hernandez was mad after being subbed as a sub against Barnsley and there’s a chance that Bielsa gives him a start on Sunday.

However, we don’t think that Bielsa will change from the plan that’s served him well so far.

This is the team we expect to see at Pride Park…
