MOT View: Bielsa to make big change, Poveda involved - Predicted Leeds starting XI v Cardiff

We should be focusing squarely on the next Leeds United clash at the moment, set to take place on Sunday afternoon in Cardiff.

However, the football world is in upheaval at the moment because of the Coronavirus.

La Liga is the latest to fall victim to the virus with all games suspended for at least the next two weeks.

A report in the Times said that all UK games would be played behind closed doors in a move that could be announced on Thursday, but that hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.

We have to presume the game against Cardiff will go ahead with or without fans but there’s no certainty that’s the case with the situation developing at a very fast pace.

Marcelo Bielsa’s big decision is whether to risk Kalvin Phillips after the midfielder missed the 2-0 win against Huddersfield last weekend.

Danny Mills has urged Bielsa to rest him after he spotted Phillips limping around at Elland Road after the win against Huddersfield.

However, he will have had eight days to recover and that should be plenty of time for a dead calf to recover.

There is a chance that Bielsa could rest him for the game against Fulham next Wednesday and if he’s not 100% we think that’s what will happen.

However, every three points is crucial at this point in the season and we think he will play with Gaetano Berardi dropping out.

Elsewhere, Illan Meslier will continue in goal with Kiko Casilla banned.

He still hasn’t conceded a goal in the Championship and he’ll be desperate to keep that record going.

Patrick Bamford will lead the line after scoring in the 2-0 win against Huddersfield.

Tyler Roberts will be on the bench where we also think we’ll see Ian Poveda after he put in a solid display, including a brilliant assist, for the Under-23s on Monday.

Jean-Kevin Augustin is expected to miss the game with his hamstring injury.
