MOT View: 27y/o to start in one change after Bielsa confirmation - Leeds predicted XI v Preston

Marcelo Bielsa is predicted to make just one change to the Leeds United starting line-up ahead of their Boxing Day clash against Preston North End at Elland Road.

Bielsa confirmed on Monday that Pablo Hernandez is out for “one month” with “an injury in his hamstring” [LeedsLive] after he was forced off the pitch in the defeat at Fulham on Saturday.

Ezgjan Alioski is set to replace Hernandez in the starting line-up with Bielsa also confirming that at his pre-match press conference [Yorkshire Evening Post].

It is predicted that 27-year-old Alioski will start at left-back with Stuart Dallas moving into the centre of the midfield, which is where he played in the 1-1 draw away at Preston earlier this season.

As for the rest of the squad, Bielsa is expected to keep things as they are despite the disappointing result at Craven Cottage last week.

Kiko Casilla is predicted to start in goals behind a back-four of Luke Ayling, Ben White, Liam Cooper and Alioski.

Kalvin Phillips, Dallas and Mateusz Klich could be the three central midfielders for Bielsa with Helder Costa on the right-wing and Jack Harrison on the left.

Tyler Roberts and Jamie Shackleton are both fit and available for Leeds this week but this game might come too soon for either of them to start and they may be on the bench when Preston make their way to Elland Road.

Completing the starting line-up, Patrick Bamford is highly likely to spearhead the attack as Leeds’ lone striker.

In other Leeds United news, one defender will miss the Preston game with an illness.
