‘Most underrated player in the world; On fire’ – Many fans blown away by Leeds ace int’l display
It was a busy night for some Leeds United players and a mixed bag in terms of the Wednesday night internationals.
Kalvin Phillips played well but had a night to forget at Wembley as England lost 1-0 to Denmark and had two players sent off.
Stuart Dallas scored an own goal as Northern Ireland lost 1-0 to Norway.
The night went markedly better for two other Leeds players.
Gjanni Alioski scored a late equaliser from the penalty spot as North Macedonia rescued a point at home to Georgia.
And Mateusz Klich helped his side to a 3-0 win over Bosnia & Herzegovina with a brilliant display from midfield that included a sublime assist for the third goal.
One Leeds fan posted footage of that on Twitter on Wednesday night and plenty of other supporters queued up to pay tribute to a player who’s been fantastic for Leeds under Marcelo Bielsa.
After an inauspicious start to his Leeds career, that saw him shipped out on loan to Utrecht just six months after he joined, Klich has become an uber-mainstay under Bielsa.
He played every game in the 18/19 Championship and an incredible run saw him start every game the next season until he was benched against Derby after Leeds had won the title.
He’s started every game in the Premier League this season and these fans know just how important he is to club and country, with one saying he is the “most underrated player in the world”…
