Mike Dean reacts instantly to Leeds star incident that had ‘Chelsea players furious’
Chelsea were adamant that Leeds’ third goal should’ve been disallowed as Daniel Farke’s side pulled off a shock result at Elland Road.
Leeds beat Chelsea 3-1 to move out of the Premier League relegation zone, putting in a famous performance to beat Enzo Maresca’s men.
Jaka Bijol opened the scoring for the Whites, before Ao Tanaka slammed home from the edge of the box to double his side’s lead.
Pedro Neto got one back for Chelsea early in the second half, before Dominic Calvert-Lewin restored Leeds’ two-goal advantage.

Chelsea left raging at Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal
Calvert-Lewin tapped home from yards out to put Leeds 3-1 ahead at Elland Road, but Chelsea felt the goal should’ve been ruled out.
Noah Okafor robbed Tosin Adarabioyo in his own box before sliding in and knocking the ball past Robert Sanchez.
With Sanchez on the floor, Calvert-Lewin couldn’t miss, but the Chelsea keeper was enraged that the goal hadn’t been disallowed.
Speaking on Sky Sports News, host Simon Thomas said: “The Chelsea players are furious that the goal stands.”
Thomas then asked former Premier League referee Mike Dean whether the goal should’ve been allowed.
Dean said: “Oh yeah, there’s nothing wrong with it. The attackers played the ball into the goalkeeper. They were checking for a possible offside, and that was the on-field decision, that there was no offside. So perfect goal, perfect goal.”
Dominic Calvert-Lewin can save Leeds
Calvert-Lewin scored moments after coming on against Man City last weekend, and was on target once again tonight.
The former Everton striker has had a difficult start to life at Elland Road, but there is no doubt that he has the talent and ability to be a success for Farke’s side.
If he’s given a run of games in the team, particularly alongside Lukas Nmecha in Leeds’ new 5-3-2 formation, he can get back to his very best.
Farke came into the Chelsea game under huge pressure, but thanks to Calvert-Lewin and Co., the German has likely bought himself another few weeks.
Leeds welcome Liverpool to Elland Road on Saturday, and off the back of such an impressive victory, they will fancy their chances of causing another upset.
