Michael Owen has backed Leeds United to pick up a point against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Friday evening.
The Whites travel to the midlands with a number of injury worries, with Kalvin Phillips and Diego Llorente ruled out and Liam Cooper a major doubt.
Villa are the only side in the top-flight with a 100% record, and Owen believes they will lose that in a draw on Friday.
Writing in his BetVictor predictions blog, Owen backed the Whites for success at Villa Park on Friday evening.
“We kick off the Premier League weekend with a cracking match as Leeds travel to Villa Park,” he said.
“The Villains are the only side in the league with a 100% record and I think this will be another match where they’ll fancy themselves to get 3 points.
“Leeds will be without Kalvin Phillips, but I still think the away side will have enough to cause them problems, so I’m siding with a draw.”
It will be a massive task for Leeds without Phillips, with Marcelo Bielsa already sharing that Pascal Struijk will fill that slot.
Where will Leeds need to be better?
The Whites didn’t test Rui Patricio enough against Wolves on Monday, and they will need to find a way to be more productive in the final third tonight.
Despite keeping 67.8% possession and having 13 shots on goal, only two of those hit the target according to WhoScored.
Leeds attempted far too many crosses and only completed seven dribbles – something they need to do more of against Villa to isolate both Matty Cash and Matt Targett.
It’s certainly a tough ask, but we wouldn’t bet against the Whites turning up and causing another so-called “shock” on Friday.
