Michael Dawson blown away by Leeds United player’s moment of magic in Fulham loss
Leeds United supporters will be gutted as they travel back up to West Yorkshire after seeing their side lose 1-0 to Fulham on Saturday afternoon.
Like the vast majority of Leeds’ Premier League games so far, it was a tight affair with the United forward line struggling to make an impact.
As the Whites looked set to be picking up another valuable point, Gabriel Gudmundsson headed into his own goal in the 94th minute, and all the hard work Leeds had done defensively unravelled in an instant.
Despite Brenden Aaronson failing to have an impact on the game, one Leeds player in particular caught the eye of Michael Dawson on Sky Sports.

Karl Darlow heroics praised by Michael Dawson
With Lucas Perri among those injured, Darlow had an opportunity to start in the Premier League.
The Wales international’s only other appearance came against Sheffield Wednesday in the Carabao Cup, with Darlow making a costly error.
However, despite being on the losing side, Darlow was one of the best players on the pitch, and despite the 34-year-old being in fine form, even he was left helpless as Gudmundsson’s header nestled in the back of his own net late on.
Prior to the late drama, Darlow made a fantastic save to deny Harry Wilson from scoring a superb free-kick.
This save impressed Dawson, who was watching the game on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday, with the former Tottenham defender saying: “It’s a magnificent save from Karl Darlow.
“It looks like he’s using his wrong hand, but it takes a deflection off [Pascal] Struijk, and Darlow’s going away from it before putting it over the bar. Great save.”
The 49ers, in particular will be pleased to see Darlow save Wilson’s effort, as the goalkeeper spared their blushes after they failed to get a deal over the line on deadline day to bring Wilson to Elland Road.

Karl Darlow could give Daniel Farke a potential goalkeeping dilemma
Although he kept two clean sheets in his first three appearances for Lyon, Perri has not been able to replicate the form he showcased for the French side at Leeds.
Perri’s performance against Arsenal was also concerning, and given Darlow’s impressive performance against Fulham, Perri could find it hard to get back into the team.
- Darlow made three saves against Fulham
- He also managed one high claim as well as a punch
- Furthermore, Darlow looked more composed with the ball at his feet as opposed to Perri
The new signing is also expected to miss United’s trip to Wolves, giving Darlow yet another opportunity to impress, and if the Wales international can impress again, he could snatch Perri’s starting position away from him for the coming weeks.
