Micah Richards says Daniel Farke will be kicking himself at Leeds United after what he has noticed
Leeds drew 2-2 with Bournemouth on Saturday in an entertaining but cruel Premier League game.
Although Bournemouth took the lead through Antoine Semenyo, Leeds fired back with goals from Joe Rodon and Sean Longstaff on 28 September.
Longstaff enjoyed his best game in a Leeds shirt, registering an assist for Rodon and his first goal for the West Yorkshire club.
However, Daniel Farke’s side couldn’t hold on for a win. A 93rd-minute equaliser from Eli Kroupi stole the match away from Leeds and ensured Bournemouth left Elland Road with a point.

Micah Richards explains why Daniel Farke will be ‘kicking himself’ after draw vs Bournemouth
A last-minute equaliser is painful at the best of times, particularly when you’re expected to be scrapping for every point in a relegation battle.
However, on the latest episode of Match of the Day, Micah Richards explained why Farke is likely to be particularly frustrated with this late goal.
He said: “Home form is going to be key, and I think that’s why Farke will be kicking himself today because they deserved to win.”
Alan Shearer agreed that Leeds would be tough to beat at Elland Road, as their noisy home support would make things difficult for opponents.
Richards was complimentary of Farke’s approach to the game, and suggested that Leeds have a good chance of avoiding relegation this season.
“They’re pragmatic. They want to play, and then go on transition. It’s probably a better way to stay in the Premier League.”

Leeds have shown that they can compete home and away in the Premier League
This late equaliser from Bournemouth is likely to sting for a few days, but it shouldn’t overshadow the fact that Leeds have enjoyed an encouraging start to the season.
They have picked up eight points from their first six games and currently sit well clear of the bottom three, despite a tricky start on paper.
Perhaps more importantly, they’ve shown that they can compete well in the Premier League, both at Elland Road and away from home.
They were taught a lesson by Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, but were seconds away from claiming a point at Fulham and won comfortably at Wolves.
Opponent | Result |
Arsenal (A) | Lost 5-0 |
Fulham (A) | Lost 1-0 |
Wolves (A) | Won 3-1 |
Farke has played down Leeds’ away performances, but there’s no reason why they can’t and pick up points as well.
This will help to ease the pressure on the players to pick up points at Elland Road and give them more freedom to express themselves on their home ground.
Leeds host Tottenham next weekend. A positive result in that game will certainly help to ease the pain of the points dropped against Bournemouth.
