Marcelo Bielsa confirms Leeds forward ‘unavailable’ for selection after Spurs clash

Marcelo Bielsa has claimed that Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts is “unavailable at the moment” after missing the Spurs clash.

The Whites went on to lose 3-0 on Saturday afternoon, with the Welsh international not even making the bench in the capital.

Roberts will have been frustrated with his lack of game time this season, having only started two games and making six appearances off the bench.

Graham Smyth of the Yorkshire Evening Post relayed the news on his personal Twitter account after the defeat, with Bielsa needing input from his media team before answering the question.

“Tyler Roberts is ‘unavailable at the moment’,” he said.

“He asked for input on the question from the Leeds media team, before answering.”

Fans have already started to question the reaction of Bielsa on Twitter, with some claiming that he could be on his way out of Elland Road this month.

With the FA Cup clash against Crawley coming up next, Roberts will surely have been guaranteed to start that game to give Patrick Bamford a rest.

Roberts has been linked with an exit already this season.

Football Insider have reported recently that Derby County could be interested in Roberts, but Leeds would only part ways if they were to sign someone first.

The Whites are unlikely to bring anyone in this month, but could this be the first hint that they want to improve their options in the final third?

A loan move could be benefitial for the 21-year-old, who has completed less than 300 minutes this season and has played more for the under-23s.

We wouldn’t want to see Roberts leave on a permanent deal, but a loan move would make sense, is this the first hint Bielsa wants deals done this month?
