‘Unforgivable’, ‘Shocking’ – Many Leeds fans tear apart ‘liability’ v Sheffield Weds
The 1-0 defeat against Arsenal made many Leeds United fans question who should be in goal on Saturday.
Despite Illan Meslier impressing at the Emirates Stadium, Marcelo Bielsa decided to hand the spot back to Kiko Casilla against Sheffield Wednesday.
The Spaniard has been very poor as of late, making numerous mistakes. In fact, he has conceded 76.47% of the shots on target he’s faced in the last 6 games – nowhere near good enough.
It continued against Sheffield Wednesday as well, the Owls having their first shot on target in the 87th minute. Jacob Murphy managed to beat Casilla at his near post despite being at a tight angle.
Many Leeds fans took to Twitter to voice their concerns over the former Real Madrid man, with many calling for Meslier to be brought back into the side.
Here are some of the reactions from the 2-0 defeat below…
It is a fair point to potentially bring in Meslier for the game against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday. Casilla managed to keep 12 clean sheets in the opening four months of the season but has conceded more than two goals per game in his last six outings – 13 to be precise.
