Many Leeds fans blown away by ‘MOTM’ in win v Burnley: ‘Incredible again’, ‘Magnificent’
Leeds United fans have been raving about Kalvin Phillips’ performance in the 1-0 win against Burnley at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon.
Phillips, 25, played in a back-three alongside Luke Ayling and Pascal Struijk and played a huge role in the Whites keeping a clean sheet for just the third time this season in the Premier League.
Illan Meslier didn’t have a lot to do due to how well Phillips defended ahead of him, even as Burnley pressed for an equaliser for the whole of the second half and a change of formation saw the England international move into his regular defensive midfield role.
Sean Dyche’s side were on top for large periods of the game and we thought while watching it that it was only a matter of time before the Clarets broke through.
However, that goal never came and Leeds overcame the disappointment of their heavy defeat to Manchester United with an important win in their final match at Elland Road in 2020.
A lot of Leeds fans took to Twitter to sing the praises of Phillips in the game.
Several dubbed him as the Whites’ man of the match while another said that he has been “incredible again“.

Phillips was outstanding for Leeds against Burnley.
The midfielder-turned-defender won headers, won tackles, won interceptions and did a great job of relieving pressure by playing the ball out of the defence.
Even when he was moved into a midfield role for the final stages of the game, he was getting back into the box and helping to clear Leeds’ lines.
