Manager claims Leeds star likely to feature in Nations League clash on Wednesday
Wales boss Ryan Giggs has shared that Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts is likely to feature against Bulgaria on Wednesday evening.
The Welsh are without both Kieffer Moore and Hal Robson-Kanu through injuries and could give Roberts his second start of this week.
Roberts started the 3-0 defeat against England at Wembley last week and impressed against his teammate Kalvin Phillips.
Giggs was full of praise for the Leeds playmaker, claiming his side needs to show more composure to get the best out of him on the international stage.
“We’ll have to change the thinking of our approach and how we play,” he told Wales Online.
“Tyler can play a variety of different positions. For Leeds, he’s played as a 10, he’s played out wide, he’s played upfront. He gives you that flexibility and he’s comfortable in all of them roles in forward areas.
“It’s up to us to make sure that we get the best out of him, make sure we supply him and like I said, we need to be better on the ball, show more composure.
“Tyler is one of them players who can produce a goal or assist with a goal. He’s definitely in my plans.”
Roberts was superb against England despite not seeing much of the ball, and Marcelo Bielsa would be delighted to see the youngster earn two starts this week.
The 21-year-old suffered from too many injuries last season and couldn’t put together a run of fixtures which saw his progress suffer slightly.
Bielsa has started Roberts in the past two games but has been replaced by Rodrigo in both – with the Spaniard impressing.
Rodrigo is likely to take his place against Wolves unless Roberts can step up and catch his eye with a great performance against Bulgaria later tomorrow.
