Makes 28y/o 2x better – Leeds Super Fans hail ‘immense’ player who has brought Bielsa-ball back
Leeds United are intent on making this season as tough for us as possible.
11 points clear of third place before Christmas, a dismal run of form has seen that all-important buffer disintegrate.
Leeds went into the game against Bristol City on Saturday level on points with Fulham in third and only three points ahead of Lee Johnson’s men in seventh.
Thankfully, the boys picked the perfect time to put on an exhibition.
The history books will record the game as 1-0 to Leeds but it really should have been 3-0 minimum. Probably more.
Leeds were dominant, ruthless and – of course – profligate in front of goal.
The three points were huge but the cherry on top was that Leeds were the only team to win in the top seven last weekend.
That’s narrowed the gap to four points to West Brom at the top and rebuilt the buffer back to third.
So who was the standout player for Leeds on Saturday and who was the weak link? (If indeed there was one…)
They were the questions we asked our panel of decidedly happier Super Fans – this is what they had to say.
Simon Gardner (@simamuofficial)
Jordy Phillips (@JordyP1993)
Adam Copley (@Adam_coppers98)
Luke (@LukeParsonsss)
Adam Ross (@rossi_on)

There’s an honourable mention for Luke Ayling, who scored the winner on Saturday and was immense down the right.
However, Kalvin Phillips rightly picks up the award. He was ‘immense’, as Adam Copley said, and has come back from his three-game suspension firing on all cylinders.
Archielufc said his presence in the holding midfield role makes 28-year-old “Cooper seem 2x better”.
If Leeds do go up, Phillips will be the man who gets us there and he was responsible for the return of Bielsa-ball on Saturday.
As for sinner, Pablo Hernandez got one mention but Simon Gardner said it was “far from a poor performance.”
