Major blow for Leeds as Tottenham boss Thomas Frank reveals injury boost
Leeds host Tottenham in what could be a difficult game at Elland Road on Saturday.
Tottenham are strong favourites to win the game, having started the season very well under new boss Thomas Frank.
Although Leeds are unbeaten at home for over a year, Spurs have won on their last two visits to Elland Road and their last four games against Leeds overall.
What’s more, the visitors have been boosted by some positive injury news ahead of the game.

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank reveals that Cristian Romero will start against Leeds
Tottenham have fallen behind in their last two Premier League games, as well as in the Champions League against Bodo/Glimt earlier this week, suggesting Leeds could have some joy if they start quickly and put them under enough pressure.
However, in his pre-match press conference, Tottenham boss Thomas Frank said that club captain Cristian Romero would be fit enough to start at Elland Road on Saturday.
Romero missed the game against Bodo/Glimt with a foot injury, and his absence was part of what allowed the Norwegian minnows to break through the Spurs defence at will early on in the match.

The Argentinian defender was Tottenham’s player of the season in 2024-25. His return will certainly make things tougher for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and the Leeds attack in this Premier League clash.
Leeds must outwork Tottenham to give themselves the best chances of a positive result
Leeds have signed some talented players and have enough in attack to cause Tottenham some problems, even with Romero back in their team.
However, to give themselves the best chance of a positive result, they must be ready to outwork and outhustle Tottenham in every area of the pitch.
It might sound like an overused cliche, but the ability to outrun and harass Tottenham can:
- pressure Tottenham into unforced errors
- help to boost the crowd and make things more intimidating for Spurs
- create a foundation for Leeds to win possession and create chances.
Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola credited Leeds for outworking them last Saturday, and admitted that this made things extremely difficult for his side.
Bodo/Glimt, Wolves and Brighton all managed to build early leads against Tottenham from a foundation of hard work and winning their individual battles.
So, you can bet that Daniel Farke will place a keen focus on encouraging his team to do the same.
