Major blow as 3 Leeds players out for clash v Arsenal; Hernandez won't play – confirmed

Marcelo Bielsa has delivered a Leeds United team update ahead of the Premier League game against Arsenal on Sunday.

And it’s good news and bad news for Leeds fans, as relayed by journalist Mark Walker.

Kalvin Phillips is back in contention after a shoulder injury that saw him miss the last three games.

Rodrigo is also back. However, Pablo Hernandez is out with a muscle strain, and Diego Llorente and Jamie Shackleton are still injured.

Bielsa was talking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League game on Sunday afternoon.

The game is being televised on Sky Sports.

Bad news about Hernandez

It’s been a long wait through the international break for Leeds fans keen to banish all thoughts of the last two games – both 4-1 defeats.

Getting Phillips back would be a huge boost, especially with Arsenal losing Thomas Partey to injury.

However, it could be the return of Rodrigo that sees the attack – so ruthless at times this season – click again.

He was the architect of so much that was good in the 3-0 win against Aston Villa and we don’t think it’s a coincidence that Leeds were poor in the next two games without him.

The news about Hernandez is a worry and it will definitely get people talking after there were rumours about a bust-up between player and manager ahead of the international break.

He may have picked up a knock in training but this won’t stop people adding two and two and making five.
