Luis Sinisterra doubtful with seven players potentially ruled out - Leeds United early team news v Liverpool
Jesse Marsch faces a potential selection crisis ahead of Leeds United versus Liverpool at Anfield this weekend.
Stuart Dallas and Adam Forshaw are definitely going to be missing for Leeds but Marsch has confirmed to the media on Thursday (27 October) that there are doubts surrounding whether Joe Gelhardt, Rodrigo, Luis Sinisterra and Tyler Adams will be fit.
He’s also unsure of whether Leo Hjelde will be in contention after recently having his appendix removed.
“Stuart and Adam still out. Questionable are Leo with his appendix, then Joffy, Rodri, Luis, Liam and Tyler are all a little bit in question. See the next 48 hours,” said Marsch, as quoted by LeedsLive.
Pressure or no pressure?
It’s not an easy game for Marsch to go into when the dogs are barking at the door.
The American is understandably under a lot of pressure at Elland Road with Leeds dropping into the Premier League zone with a home defeat to Fulham last week.
Leeds’ defence has been a shambles under Marsch, who’s also been guilty of poor tactical and selection decisions in his entire time as the Yorkshire club’s manager.
But to sack him after this game would be harsh.
Liverpool aren’t in the best of form but they’re still a team stuffed with world-class talent and Leeds should really expect to be beaten this weekend.
If they are, it would be harsh to sack Marsch unless, of course, we get smashed by four or five goals or more.
It’s the Bournemouth game that’s the big one.
In other Leeds United news, this “fantastic” manager is bound to be the next Whites boss after a Sky Sports reveal earlier this week.
