'Pocketing Ronaldo', 'World-class' - Many Leeds fans ecstatic with Diego Llorente v Portugal
It was a strange sight to see two Leeds United players in the Spain international squad on Wednesday.
Both Rodrigo and Diego Llorente started against Portugal, and both caught the eye as the away side dominated the game.
It was the first time many Leeds fans got to watch Llorente since he sealed his move to Elland Road from Real Sociedad.
Llorente slotted straight into the Spain side with ease, against a potent Portuguese attack in Lisbon.
Cristiano Ronaldo was joined by Andre Silva, although they didn’t get to see much of the ball – much to their frustration.
The Leeds man dominated Ronaldo and had more to do in possession than out of it, something which highlights his defensive strength.
There was one opportunity for the Juventus star to run at Llorente, and he shut him down effectively, putting in a great tackle.

If this isn’t the best way to introduce yourself to the Leeds fans, then we don’t know what is, keeping Ronaldo quiet is definitely it.
Many Leeds fans reacted to his outing and were blown away by Llorente’s performance on Wednesday evening.
Some even claimed that Liam Cooper’s place in the side could soon come under threat if the Spaniard continues to play like this.
