Live from Thorp Arch: Leeds midfielder confirms likely return date after training injury
Robbie Gotts hasn’t been seen since he made his Leeds United debut in the FA Cup game against Arsenal.
The midfielder had waited a long time for his first-team chance and he acquitted himself well in the game, only to see his progress thwarted through injury.
Talking to MOT Leeds News reporter Mark Smith at Thorp Arch today, Gotts said that he picked the injury up in training, not during the Arsenal game.
“I picked up an injury in training, not too sure what happened”, Gotts said.
Asked whether it would keep him out for long Gotts delivered a positive update saying, “Not too long, I should be back in a week.”
The injury was unfortunate for Gotts, coming just as he finally got in the first team.

Ahead of the Arsenal game, Gotts had been on the bench 35 times without getting a minute on the pitch.
No sooner had he made his debut than he was injured and after appearing regularly on the bench, Gotts hasn’t made the Championship squad since January 1.
This is a positive update, though, and he might well be in contention to make his return in the Under-23s game against Burnley next Monday.
