Liam Cooper reacts to red card decision in Leeds win v Manchester City

Leeds United captain Liam Cooper has reacted to his red card in the 2-1 victory over Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.

The Whites defender was handed his marching orders after VAR reviewed Andre Marriner’s decision and overturned it after the supposed high tackle on Gabriel Jesus.

It didn’t matter in the end as Stuart Dallas fired home his second goal and the winner in the final minutes at the Etihad to spark unbelievable scenes.

Responding to a fan on his personal Twitter account in the past hour, Cooper admitted that he was “raging” in the dressing room after the decision.

“Should have seen me in the dressing room,” he wrote. “Racing lunatic.”

Raging.

Cooper is speaking his mind and it is how every single Leeds fan was feeling at the time of the incident, with the consistency shocking once again.

As soon as Marriner was advised to review his decision on the screen, we all had that sinking feeling that it would end in a red card for the skipper.

There aren’t many more who have more passion than Cooper, and he is relishing every single chance to captain the Whites in the Premier League this season.

We would prefer our players to go into these huge 50-50 clashes rather than bottle it and be scared to come off second best and possibly be sent off.

The moment that happens, the moment football has changed forever.

Cooper has every single right to be raging, and hopefully, more consistency is delivered sooner rather than later; although we aren’t holding our breath.
