Liam Cooper asks Leeds fans to do one thing in clash v Huddersfield, Billy Sharp responds

Liam Cooper has sent a message to Leeds United fans asking them to give a round of applause for lifelong fan Ken Foster, who passed away at the age of 72.

Ken was a Leeds season ticket holder for over 50 years.

Cooper wants the Leeds fans at Elland Road to deliver the round of applause in the 72nd minute of the game against Huddersfield.

He added that Ken’s family would be “eternally grateful” and the message was shared by fans with 440 retweets and over 3,000 likes at the time of publishing.

It wasn’t just Leeds fans who were helping the message get around.

Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp, who played with Cooper at Leeds in the 14/15 season, replied to his fanbase saying, “Top man skip, means a lot to the family.”

The atmosphere at Elland Road on Saturday should be electric and hopefully Leeds will have a comfortable lead by the 72nd minute to make the applause even warmer for Ken.

It’s extremely sad that he won’t see Leeds finally clinch promotion back to the Premier League, but we’re sure the fans will make some noise for him on Saturday and give him a proper send-off.

We hope we can help get the message out.
