Leeds v Man United round-up: Farke reacts after Harrison boos as next exit announced

Leeds’ pre-season schedule got underway this afternoon with a 0-0 draw against Man United.

With under a month remaining until Leeds officially make their return to the Premier League, Daniel Farke and his team will be hard at work to ensure the Whites are fully prepared.

Recruitment at Elland Road is going to play a big part in that, as will the fixtures played between now and August.

With that in mind, Leeds’ 0-0 draw against Man United threw up several surprises, as well as potential confirmation as to who could be next out of the door.

Brenden Aaronson absence explained

Several Leeds players were missing from the squad that faced off against the Red Devils in Sweden, with Brenden Aaronson among them.

Isaac Schmidt was another who missed out, though this was later revealed as a minor injury.

As for Aaronson, the USMNT international had been given extended leave after returning from international duty.

He is expected to join up with his Leeds teammates when they jet off to Germany for the next part of their pre-season schedule.

Jack Harrison booed by Leeds fans on return

Jack Harrison isn’t the most popular figure around Elland Road, and that was showcased very early on in the clash against Ruben Amorim’s side.

Leeds fans were heard booing the winger, who has spent the last two campaigns on loan at Everton, but failing to impress.

When asked for his response to the reaction of Harrison’s return [YEP], Daniel Farke said: “So first of all, he’s under contract. He’s a player who knows the league inside and out, he’s at a really good age, has many, many Premier League appearances, and we would be stupid if we didn’t want to use it.

“It totally depends on how he uses chance.

“So I think he’s a great guy, a hard worker, a pretty reliable player and has proven this on Premier League level, and right now it’s up to him to win the trust and the confidence back.”

Patrick Bamford finished after Farke talks

Injuries have played a massive role in the downfall of Patrick Bamford at Leeds, with the 31-year-old failing to score a single goal for the Whites last season.

Leeds tried to move him on in the winter, but to no prevail, and Bamford has since been told by Farke that he has no future at Elland Road.

Getting his wages off the books will be a priority for Leeds, who have already been on the lookout for his replacement in the summer transfer window, though yet to make any real progress in securing it.

As for Bamford, it remains to be seen where his future lies, but one thing is for sure that it will no longer be with the Whites.
