Leeds United vs Tottenham result predicted by supercomputer

Leeds United are back at Elland Road again this weekend to face Tottenham.

Off the back of Leeds’ 2-2 draw at home to Bournemouth, the Whites are back on home soil again on Saturday afternoon when they face Spurs.

A win for Leeds would take them to 11 points, which is usually the early benchmark for a side to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

However, Spurs have impressed under Thomas Frank, meaning that Saturday’s encounter will be one of their hardest yet.

Leeds understandably underdogs for Tottenham clash

Leeds will very rarely be favourites for a game in the Premier League, and Saturday’s encounter with Tottenham will be no different.

Via Opta, the Whites have a 30.6 per cent chance of taking all three points, while Spurs have been afforded a 44.4 per cent likelihood of another Premier League win.

However, while Spurs are more likely to win, these predictions fail to take into account form, and with Tottenham coming off the back of a poor 1-1 draw against Wolves, their momentum has taken a hit.

Leeds, on the other hand, despite dropping two points at the death, go into the game off the back of a solid result against Bournemouth.

Given how well-drilled Spurs are defensively, Leeds will need to take their chances when they arrive, something which Dominic Calvert-Lewin failed to do last time out.

Head-to-head

Dating back to 1924, Leeds have faced off against Tottenham on 103 occasions, though it is the North London club who have come out on top on more occasions.

Spurs have won 41 of those encounters, while the Whites have won 33, with the last one coming back in 2021.

Stuart Dallas, Rodrigo and Getafe-bound Patrick Bamford were all on the score sheet in a 3-1 win for the Whites, though their fortunes after that triumph have been dull.

Tottenham have won the last four fixtures between these two sides with an aggregate scoreline of 14-6.

With that said, Leeds have already shown this season that they can compete in the Premier League, and the Elland Road faithful will have another huge part to play in the outcome of Saturday’s game.
