Leeds United vs AFC Bournemouth: Team news, likely lineups, score prediction

Leeds United welcome AFC Bournemouth to Elland Road for their latest Premier League fixture this Saturday.

Daniel Farke’s side should be full of confidence after Leeds beat Wolves 3-1 at Molineux last weekend.

Leeds have a remarkable winning streak at home against Bournemouth, dating all the way back to the first fixture between these two at Elland Road in 1939.

The Cherries are a dangerous side under Andoni Ireola though, so this should be an exciting fixture between two in-form teams.

Leeds United team news

Jayden Bogle is Leeds’ only new fitness concern following the victory at Wolves. The defender limped off at Molineux with a suspected swollen foot, and it remains unclear whether he’ll recover in time for this match.

Lucas Perri could be fit enough to play this Saturday, although Farke might be tempted to stick with Karl Darlow in goal either way. Dan James is also expected to win the race to be fit for this match.

Lewis Cook and Adam Smith are injury doubts for this game, but Bournemouth have a relatively fit squad to choose from.

Leeds predicted XI vs Bournemouth

Prediction: Leeds 3 Bournemouth 2

The Premier League supercomputer says that Bournemouth are favourites to beat Leeds, but we’re backing Daniel Farke’s side to claim all three points.

Farke’s team have shown that they can compete well with mid-table Premier League teams. With the confidence gained from last Saturday’s win and the home fans cheering them on, the Whites should just edge it.

Bournemouth can be a tough cherry to crack away from home. They dominated Tottenham in a 1-0 victory earlier this season, and they were minutes away from claiming a draw with Liverpool. They might score a goal or two at Elland Road.

However, with Anton Stach and Dominic Calvert-Lewin on peak form, we think Leeds could outscore them in an entertaining 3-2 victory.
