Leeds United v West Brom: Sky Sports pundit spots Daniel Farke ‘fuming’
Daniel Farke was seen fuming after what Joe Rothwell did in the Leeds United clash against West Brom, per Don Goodman.
Despite the game ending 1-1 at Elland Road on Saturday, the German was not happy all through it.
Junior Firpo opened the scoring for the hosts while Darnell Furlong equalised a few minutes before the break.
Dan James expected better from Joe Rothwell against West Brom
Rothwell played a pass aimed at Dan James, but he absolutely blasted the ball into space.
The Wales international surely was expecting better as he was on his way and it could’ve set up a decent goal-scoring chance.
Farke, on the touchline, was extremely animated and Goodman spotted that right away.
He said on Sky Sports Football at 12:56pm on 1 March: “Daniel Farke down below us is fuming, it came as a result of a forward ball giving possession away.”
Leeds United cannot afford to put in such performances until promotion is in the bag
While West Brom isn’t an easy fixture, the table toppers should be doing a lot better than they did on Saturday afternoon.
They struggled to create too many chances and also failed to make the most in transitions – something that could’ve cost them.
Towards the end of the game, it seemed like the Baggies dropped deeper and that made things easier for the hosts, but they should not wait until the final 20 minutes of the game to really go out and win.
After the impressive performance against Sheffield United, this one seemed a bit flat and Farke needs to keep the standards high until the job is done.
Played | Won | Drawn | Lost | Goals for | Goals against | Goal difference | Points | |
Leeds United | 35 | 22 | 10 | 3 | 72 | 22 | 50 | 76 |
Hopefully, the players respond well away to Portsmouth next Sunday and go on about their jobs professionally.
Pompey can easily be sucked into a relegation battle so they’ll be doing everything they can to ensure that they can get something from the game.
This result also gives Sheffield United the chance to close the gap to Leeds at the top of the table and Burnley would also be delighted with it.
