Leeds United v Millwall: BBC pundit gushes over what Willy Gnonto did
Leigh Bromby has been left gushing over what Willy Gnonto did as Leeds United secured a 2-0 victory over Millwall at Elland Road on Sunday, 17 March.
With that result, the Whites moved to the top of the Championship table, albeit having played a game more than Leicester, who were in action against Chelsea in the FA Cup.
Gnonto's past performances were brought up where he was a liability for his teammates and Daniel Farke, but he appears to have turned it around.
Speaking on BBC Radio Leeds, Bromby said via Leeds United News: “He was really poor at it. He was dropped by managers because he did not track back, he just attacked. And it was fantastic because, as a fan, you watch it and you think, wow, what a talent this guy is.
"If you’re playing in his team, you’re thinking he’s a liability, because he’s not working for the team.
“That’s totally changed. You see him tracking back today. You see him working for the team. That comes from the manager and what he wants in place.”
Gnonto can guide Leeds United back to the Premier League
Gnonto's transformation at Leeds is nothing short of remarkable.
Once considered a passenger on the defensive side of things, the 20-year-old has emerged as a key player for Farke's side, showcasing not only his attacking prowess but also a newfound commitment to tracking back and defending.
Leeds fans and Farke will undoubtedly be delighted with Gnonto's progress, as his improvement adds a new dimension to the team's game.
With five league goals since the start of February, Gnonto has been pivotal in Leeds' climb to the top of the Championship table.
His ability to contribute both offensively and defensively makes him a valuable asset to the team, and his continued growth could spearhead the Whites' journey back to the Premier League.
Gnonto's dedication to improving his all-around game exemplifies his determination and potential to lead Leeds to success in the future.
