Leeds United v Hull City: Don Goodman fumes after what he saw at Elland Road

Don Goodman has slammed Hull City defender Lewie Coyle for his header in the game against Leeds United at Elland Road.

The EFL Championship clash ended 3-1 in favour of Leeds on Monday, 1 April, and things could’ve been a lot different.

Leeds nearly scored their second at the stroke of half-time as there was a melee inside the Hull penalty area and Coyle struggled to clear his lines but was bailed out by the rest of his teammates.

Goodman, speaking on Sky Sports Main Event (1 April, 20:48), said: “It’s an awful header from Coyle but Hull manage to regroup there and defend it. Bamford’s offside there because he’s ahead of the goalkeeper.”

Leeds United should have capitalised v Hull City

That was a clear cut chance for the Whites and they should’ve done better from that situation.

It was the second time in the first half that Patrick Bamford let them down and Daniel Farke will not be pleased with that.

He decided to start the striker ahead of Joel Piroe and will have regretted it, at least going into the break.

Elland Road played its part throughout the game and that is what the players would’ve expected from the Easter Monday clash.

It remains to be seen if the Whites can manage to finish in the top two come the end of the season as there remain areas that still need improvement.

Ilia Gruev undoubtedly was a big miss for the Whites and hopefully, he’s back sooner rather than later as he’s vital for their promotion push.
