Leeds United to continue five-year streak vs Man City if supercomputer prediction comes true

Leeds United could record their most impressive win of the season when they host Man City at Elland Road on Saturday.

The Whites currently sit 15th in the Premier League table, and securing three points against Pep Guardiola’s side would give them a huge boost in the relegation battle.

Daniel Farke‘s side might be six points clear of the drop zone, but West Ham’s impressive form means they’ll likely need three more wins before they can achieve safety.

Unfortunately, Leeds’ next match against Man City will be an incredibly tough one, with a supercomputer prediction showing exactly why.

Man City predicted as heavy favourites vs Leeds

Man City still have high hopes of winning the title, as they sit five points behind league leaders Arsenal with a game in hand.

After beating Newcastle 2-1 last Saturday, they’ll feel confident of extending their winning run to six matches in all competitions.

According to Opta‘s supercomputer, Leeds will suffer another loss to the Citizens.

The last time the Whites beat Man City was in April 2021, when Stuart Dallas scored a brace at the Etihad under Marcelo Bielsa.

Since that match five years ago, Leeds have lost each of their last five Premier League games against Guardiola’s side, and that streak could continue on Saturday.

With the match starting at 5:30pm, Elland Road will be a cauldron of noise, which will definitely be an advantage for Leeds’ players.

Why Man City could struggle with their evening visit to Elland Road

The Whites have been phenomenal at home since Farke’s arrival in July 2023, and it’s no shock that it is largely down to the fans.

Leeds haven’t lost any of their last 25 league or play-off matches at Elland Road that have kicked off after 5pm since a 6-1 defeat to Liverpool in April 2023.

The home crowd is a huge reason for that, and at night, the atmosphere is even more tense for visiting teams.

Man City will try to remain unfazed by the hostility, but it’s clear that they’ll need to achieve something no other side has done in the past 26 months – secure an away win against Leeds under the lights.
