Klich starts, U23 star makes bench for first time – Confirmed Leeds starting XI v Spurs

Leeds United have named an unchanged starting XI against Tottenham for the trip to London, with Mateusz Klich recovering from his knock.

After thrashing West Brom 5-0 on Tuesday, coupled with a 1-0 victory against Burnley in the previous game, Leeds go into the Spurs game in confident fashion.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa remains without a number of key first-team players, including central defenders Liam Cooper, Diego Llorente and Robin Koch.

The bench is extremely young, with Under-23 stars Charlie Cresswell, Jack Jenkins and 20-year-old Niall Huggins making his first ever first-team involvement.

The team news was announced on the official Leeds United Twitter page on Saturday, ahead of the 12.30pm kick-off.

Time for football to take centre stage

It’s nice to get back to the football after a few days that have been absolutely dominated by the controversy over Karen Carney’s comments during the West Brom game.

The abuse she got led to her deleting her Twitter account, which is regrettable.

The game today is a fascinating one, with two contrasting styles set to collide in north London.

Bielsa will go for the jugular but Tottenham have some devastatingly good attackers who can pose a really big problem for Leeds on the counter.

It’s one to sit back and enjoy. Leeds have come a long way under Bielsa and 23 points before the midway point of the season is already a huge achievement.

A win today would be incredible, a point would be fantastic. A defeat wouldn’t really matter in the scheme of things.

Three points for Bielsa and his side would see them move level with West Ham and Southampton on 26 points.
