Robbie Savage reveals why he is most worried about Leeds United and Jesse Marsch

Robbie Savage has revealed that he thinks Leeds United and Jesse Marsch have a very strong chance of being relegated from the Premier League this season.

The Whites currently sit in 14th place in the table, however Marsch and co are painfully close to the relegation zone with just one point separating them from impending doom.

Savage confessed in his column for the Mirror that he’s worried that Leeds United are “vulnerable” to relegation because of how young Marsch’s side are compared to the team’s around them.

“That leaves Wolves, Leeds and Leicester as potential relegation candidates – and of those three, I am most worried about Leeds,” said Savage as quoted by The Mirror.

“Great club, tremendous atmosphere at Elland Road every week, great energy on the pitch… but there’s a certain naivety about Jesse Marsch’s young side that makes them vulnerable. So for me, Everton survive – but Southampton, Bournemouth and Leeds are staring down the barrel.”

Time will tell.

It’s far too early to be making any solid relegation predictions and Savage’s comments must be taken with a pinch of salt by the Elland Road faithful.

Without question it’s going to be a tough road ahead, with sides in and around the drop zone providing a variety of results week in and week out.

And with signings still to be made during the January transfer window, a game-changer could arrive at any of these clubs and change their fortunes instantly.

Savage questioning Leeds’ youth though is quite bizarre, as the young stars of the team have arguably been the driving force behind solid results this season.

Marsch and the club would be in a far worse predicament if it wasn’t for the likes of Crysencio Summerville and the emerging Italian hotshot Willy Gnonto.

If anything, it could well be that the youth of this Whites team is the reason for the club staying in the Premier League this season and beyond.
