Leeds United predicted XI v Southampton in Premier League: Liam Cooper starts

Leeds United have received a triple injury boost for their game against Southampton on Saturday in the Premier League.

After beating Wolves 2-1 on the opening weekend, Jesse Marsch is now set to welcome the likes of Luis Sinisterra, Adam Forshaw and Liam Cooper back into his squad.

While the goalkeeper and midfield seem sorted and no changes expected, we could see the commanding presence of Cooper coming right back into the eleven.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Marsch said, “We’ve had a lot more guys in training this week.

“So, Adam, Liam and Luis have all entered training and are all eligible for the weekend.

“Still, Junior is probably a couple of weeks behind, Luke is the same. Stuart Dallas I saw on the pitch today so that was an exciting moment for us.”

There’s no reason to shuffle the front four even though Sinisterra has been signed as Raphinha’s replacement.

An argument may be made over dropping Rodrigo, and it does make sense to start Mateusz Klich in his stead.

The Pole came off the bench against Wolves and turned the game around its head and we think he may be given the nod for this one.

Brenden Aaronson can always come in to play as a number 10 with Sinisterra replacing Klich in the second half – in case Marsch wants to go more attacking.

The 32-year-old has that footballing brain and vision that Rodrigo clearly does not possess and we believe it will be beneficial to have Klich in the lineup for this one.

Cooper should also come in for Robin Koch who will offer another defensive midfield option off the bench should anything happen to Tyler Adams or Marc Roca.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites now have a clear run to sign a £20m-rated left-back as their Premier League rivals have now bowed out of the race.
