Leeds United: Patrick Bamford set for first start in months v Crystal Palace

Leeds United are finally set to welcome Patrick Bamford back into their starting XI for the Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

The Whites travel down to London on Sunday afternoon (09 October) with changes needed to be made as Luis Sinisterra serves his ban after the red card last time out.

Jesse Marsch shared that Bamford is ready to go alongside Rodrigo after numerous injury blows this season, as he finally gets back to full fitness.

The Independent has gone further by reporting that Bamford is set to start for the first time since August, rather than just a substitute cameo at Selhurst Park.

It could have come one week earlier against Aston Villa, but the striker picked up yet another knock in training and was only fit enough for a handful of minutes.

Leeds even shared footage from Thorp Arch, with Bamford chesting the ball down before slamming an overhead kick into the back of the net to prove his confidence.

Here We Go.

This is the news that everyone has been waiting for at Elland Road.

Rodrigo has performed well in recent weeks and months, but Bamford brings that different presence to panic defenders and hold the ball up, something others can’t do.

The England international has looked rusty in his cameo appearances in recent times, so hopefully, this break and getting back to 100% will bring a different side out of him.

We haven’t seen that Bamford from his first Premier League season back with us since due to injuries, and no one will be more frustrated than the man himself.

The footage from Thorp Arch shows confidence in abundance, so hopefully, in his first start in two months, he can prove that and find the back of the net on the way to all three points again.

Marsch did hint at other options, but it is hard to look past Bamford if he is ready and raring to go.

In other Leeds United news, this player could be first in the Elland Road boardroom as new contract talks may take centre stage
