Leeds United moment v Preston baffles live on talkSPORT — ‘Unbelievable’
Leeds United faced Preston North End in the Championship on Saturday, and an incomprehensible moment at Elland Road raised questions.
Elland Road hosted Paul Heckingbottom’s team on 12 April, and the fixture went off to a quick start with three goals in the opening 12 minutes.
Manor Solomon gave the Whites an early lead in the fourth minute before Kaine Kesler-Hayden equalised for the visitors just seconds later.
Jayden Bogle restored the West Yorkshire outfit’s advantage with the game ending 2-1, but the hectic start to the match was baffling.

Preston equaliser unbelievable as Leeds defending questioned
Preston’s equalising goal after Solomon’s striker was “unbelievable” as the Whites fell to sleep, Courtney Sweetman-Kirk says.
The former Sheffield United forward praised PNE for creating their opportunity but slammed Farke’s team for how they defended.
Championship table (2024/25) | Points |
1. Leeds | 88 |
2. Burnley | 88 |
3. Sheffield United | 86 |
Sweetman-Kirk raised questions about how the hosts handled the situation but was pleased with the start of the game overall.
Speaking on talkSPORT 2 (12 March, 12:37), the forward said: “Unbelievable. Leeds just fell to sleep, and it’s that old adage that normally you’re most vulnerable when you’ve scored. That’s what happens here. Preston do really well, really expansive. Going forward. Nothing that we’ve really seen for the first five minutes.
“Very good goal from Kesler-Hayden, but there are question marks there about that Leeds defending. But, wow, what a game we’ve got already.”

Farke will fume at Leeds defending for Preston goal
Farke’s team are gunning for Premier League promotion, and a win against Preston took them back to the top of the table.
Burnley had secured the lead in the Championship after beating Norwich City 2-1 at home on Friday (11 April).
Sheffield United aren’t far behind the automatic promotion places, and the Whites undoubtedly needed the three points against PNE.
Leeds’s lead in the Championship has diminished after three consecutive draws, and they can’t make any more mistakes until the end of the season.
The West Yorkshire outfit have four games left to go after facing Heckingbottom’s team, and the Elland Road faithful will hope Farke can manage a perfect record, or his sacking may be on the cards.
While injuries have been a consistent frustration at the Peacocks, with Pascal Stuijk picking up a knock against Luton Town, their squad has enough quality to win the league title.
The Whites need to be defensively resolute in the final few matches of the season, and every game needs to be treated as a final.
Fans will want to see similar performances from the West Yorkshire outfit in the coming weeks.
