Lewis Jones predicts result of Leeds clash v Wolves

Lewis Jones has backed Wolves to leave Leeds United with all three points in the Premier League this afternoon.

The Sky Sports expert has predicted that it will finish 3-1 to the visitors at Elland Road, with the Whites having numerous injury worries.

Marcelo Bielsa confirmed that Kalvin Phillips will be missing despite being healthy, and Jones believes that will be a real issue.

Writing in his Sky Sports predictions column this week, Jones believes the return of Raphinha won’t be enough for the Whites.

“Leeds have a real problem when Kalvin Phillips isn’t available – and with him still recovering from a calf and hip problem, an away win for Wolves should be backed,” he wrote.

“Phillips’ passing and ability to provide a platform for Leeds to attack and defend is sorely missed. Without him, their defence becomes woefully exposed.

“That said, Wolves look a better functioning unit on current form and can take all three points at Elland Road.”

Leeds United

Poor.

We can’t see the Whites being beaten this heavily at Elland Road.

Looking at the squad, there is no getting away from the fact that it is missing numerous key players, including Phillips.

Whether Bielsa can find a better answer to that this week than against Southampton, that is the real question and likely one that will determine the game.

Leeds having Raphinha is a huge boost though, and his involvement is enough to win any game for the Whites.

The Brazilian will be raring to be unleashed in front of a packed Elland Road, and after shining for his country, he will be hungry for more success here.

Hopefully, Jones can be proved wrong and we can pick up our second win of this season – it is vitally important it comes soon.
