Leeds United: Joe Gelhardt and Junior Firpo with squad for Stoke City clash

Junior Firpo and Joe Gelhardt are both at Elland Road with the Leeds United squad ahead of the Championship clash with Stoke, according to Graham Smyth.

Writing on his personal Twitter account (5 March), the Yorkshire Evening Post journalist reports that Gelhardt will be in the matchday squad with Jaidon Anthony unavailable for the game.

Firpo was described as a “minor doubt” for the game with an injury, but he has travelled and is now expected to play a part in the clash.

Leeds United must get back to winning ways vs Stoke

After nine consecutive wins in the Championship, the team were held to a draw against Huddersfield at the weekend despite the opposition having just ten men for the entire second half.

It was a bit of a poor performance in truth from the team, but they were due one at that point and the fact Leicester then went on to lose to Queens Park Rangers made it far better than it could have been.

However there is a chance for the Whites to get back into the swing of things on Tuesday night, and with a big win over relegation-battling Stoke that could do the job.

Gelhardt offers a solid option off the substitutes bench if the team need some inspiration or goals, while Firpo is the only natural left-back in the squad right now.

Having him absent for the game would have been a big blow, so it’s a huge boost that he is available for the game and can provide balance for Daniel Farke’s side.

In other Leeds news, the club have been named in another FFP case amid rule breaches.
