Leeds United: Jamie Carragher annihilates ‘disgusting’ Luke Ayling, could be final time he plays in Premier League
Jamie Carragher has torn Leeds United right-back Luke Ayling to shreds for his red card in the 2-1 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday.
Ayling, 30, had a yellow card upgraded to a straight red card upon a VAR review after he lunged in with two feet on Gabriel Martinelli.
Due to the nature of the sending off, Ayling will miss the rest of the season and Carragher says he might never play in the Premier League again.

“I love Luke Ayling as a player – but what an idiot,” said Smith on Sky Sports Premier League [8 May, 02:55pm].
“I mean, the lack of professionalism for his own teammates and what this could mean going forwards. They’re not just down to 10 men.
“Disgusting tackle coming in with two feet, it reminds be of a tackle Vinnie Jones did a long time ago.
“But what he thinks is going to happen on the back of that, it was obviously a red card.
“To do that, put your teammates down to 10 men, you miss the last three games of the season. That might be the last game Luke Ayling ever plays in the Premier League.”

Disgraceful
Ayling has let Leeds United down.
He’s let Jesse Marsch down, he’s let his teammates down and, most importantly, he’s let the fans down.
Ayling’s challenge on Martinelli was inexcusable.
Stuart Dallas is missing the rest of the season with a broken leg and he’s the only player who’d have been capable of stepping in to replace Ayling.
Now, Leeds have three matches left to play in the Premier League this season without one of their most senior players and their only proper right-back.
What a mess.
We have no idea what was going through Ayling’s head because he seemed to mean what he was doing in that tackle.
Martinelli could have been seriously injured – it’s crazy.
Leeds are done now.
And Carragher’s right about Ayling, he’s done in the Premier League too because no club in their right mind will want him in the summer if the Whites do go down.
In other Leeds United news, this star player will quit Elland Road in the summer no matter what.
