Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier savaged by talkSPORT pundit as first-team doubts emerge
Don Hutchison believes that Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier’s first-team spot is in jeopardy and believes it’s a result of his performances.
Sky Sports recently shared an article and stated that the Frenchman had conceded 11 goals from his last 11 shots on target.
Discussing whether or not he deserves to be scrutinised more by Javi Gracia, Hutchison, a talkSPORT pundit, clearly believes he’s not doing enough.

Speaking on Premier League Productions‘ weekend preview show, Hutchison, a BBC pundit, said [22/04, 23:20], “Good young goalkeeper. This season he’s not having a great time. Each time anyone takes shots he ends up conceding. You cannot be a Premier League goalkeeper doing that.”
Spot on
Meslier cannot keep resting on his laurels and he’s got to show that he can improve and become one of the best in the league.
A year ago, he was spoken of as one of the best young keepers in the world and that a call-up to the France squad was a formality.
However, if he’s not improving, there’s no reason for Didier Deschamps to call him up as he cannot trust him.

Had Leeds had a decent number two who could sweep as well as Meslier, then there’s a chance they would’ve given him a chance.
Meslier needs to be more assertive in the box and improve on his shot stopping and positioning as some of the goals he’s conceded have been shambolic.
There is pressure on him as there is on any player not performing up to the standards and it’s on him to prove his worth.
In other Leeds United news, a Whites player has a potential offer on the table and could seal his permanent Elland Road exit this summer.
