Leeds scenes stun Clinton Morrison

The Whites secured the title with minutes to spare and add the cherry on top to their promotion to the Premier League.

However, the hosts had a chance to level and take the title away from Daniel Farke‘s side in the 93rd minute when Nikola Katic headed wide from close range, before a foul was given.

Clinton Morrison was stunned by the miss, speaking on Sky Sports (3 May, 14:18 pm), he said: “It’s a free header and he’s about four yards out.

“That is an absolute sitter that he has missed, he whips it and this is a free header, he should score, he is lucky that the referee said foul.”

Host Simon Thomas responded, saying, “Wow,” which Morrison repeated.

Farke will not care about stunning Leeds scenes

Winning the title is a nice bonus for the Elland Road outfit but ultimately promotion was the be all and end all.

Farke will not have been concerned about whether his side secured the trophy or not, he is set to lead them back to the top-flight for the first time since the 2022/23 season.

If the Home Park outfit would have scored, it would not have affected the Whites at all, they secured their place back in the top tier on 21 April with the 6-0 win over Stoke as Sheffiled United suffered defeat later in the day.

The focus now switches to securing transfer targets, as a pivotal summer approaches for Farke and his side as they attempt to ensure survival.

The gap between the top-flight and the second tier seems to be at an all-time high with Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich Town set to come straight back down after promotion last season.

Leeds need to ensure that they are not another yo-yo club and that starts with having a good window and bringing in the right-quality of players to complement the current contigent.

There are concerns over the strength of the squad at the moment, with Ethan Ampadu one of the only stars that the club hierarchy believes can thrive at the elite level.
