Leeds United fans chant about Chansiri revealed in win v Sheffield Wednesday

Leeds United fans were in fine voice as chants about Dejphon Chansiri rang around Elland Road during the clash against Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday, Graham Smyth revealed.

The Whites were treated to a 3-0 win over their Yorkshire rivals on 19 January, with Manor Solomon, Largie Ramazani and Ao Tanaka’s strikes enough to secure all three points in an important home victory.

Chansiri has caused a lot of controversy at Hillsborough before Sunday’s clash, with Leeds supporters taking their chance to poke fun at their Yorkshire rivals during the victory.

Writing via X [19 January], Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Smyth wrote: “‘One Chansiri, there’s only one Chansiri,’ sings the South Stand.”

Leeds United fans rub salt into Sheffield Wednesday wounds at Elland Road

Wednesday supporters cannot wait to see the back of Chansiri, with financial problems continuing to sprout at Hillsborough, and the trip to Elland Road will certainly not have helped.

Leeds fans, on the other hand, clearly loved watching their team retake top spot in the Championship table after Sheffield United claimed three points with a win over Norwich City.

Despite being on the pitch for just four minutes, Ramazani’s 88th-minute strike was extremely important in claiming the victory as the Owls continued to push for an equaliser.

With Tanaka netting with a cheeky flick on the six-yard line, the party could truly start at Elland Road as Danny Rohl’s men started to pile out of the stadium and back home, likely pointing fingers at the owner.

Promotion back to the Premier League is, of course, the biggest ambition for Farke and his team this season, having missed out so crushingly at Wembley Stadium last term.

While Sheffield United and Burnley will continue to battle for the top spot, the Whites have put themselves in a tremendous position to claim the Championship title on their way to glory.

In other Leeds United news, a pundit has dropped a “huge” claim on an exit-linked star who could leave Elland Road for free.
