Leeds United will be desperate to pick up all three points against West Ham on Friday.

Daniel Farke's side have had a difficult few weeks in the Premier League, with Leeds' most recent defeat to Burnley making it three winless games in a row.

However, the Whites have a chance to turn things around when Leeds take on West Ham at Elland Road on Friday.

Leeds are the favourites against West Ham at Elland Road, with their opponents going through a very tough time of things right now.

Leeds to host rare Friday night Premier League game

And that may not be the only first to happen in this contest.

Indeed, in the Whites' previous spell in the Premier League between 2020-21 and 2022-23, their only home Friday night game was also against West Ham in December 2020, losing 2-1 behind closed doors due to covid restrictions.

In front of supporters, the last time the Whites hosted a top-flight Friday night game was in April 1994 against Newcastle. On that occasion, Leeds drew 1-1 due to a Chris Fairclough goal.

The visit of West Ham is therefore the first time in more than three decades Leeds have hosted a top-flight home game on a Friday in front of fans.

What are Leeds and West Ham's head-to-head statistics?

The head-to-head statistics between the Premier League sides put Leeds in good standing to earn all three points at home.

Indeed, the Whites have won 40 of their 79 meetings with the Hammers.

  • West Ham have won 19
  • Twenty-one games have ended in a draw
  • Both have won one of their last three head-to-heads, the other ending all square

Furthermore, Leeds are the better side heading into the game, having won one game in their last five. Meanwhile, West Ham have failed to win their last five matches, which is a damning reflection of their season.

Farke will therefore fancy his chances on Friday, and with the Whites sitting 16th in the Premier League on eight points, the pressure is therefore on for fans to see some more convincing performances.
